I am happy to announce that recently my application for a grant of $2500 was accepted.  Our physical education classes and recess programs will be receiving some equipment by the end of January.  Additionally, many of you are aware that we have a garden.  In an effort to educate our students on healthy eating habits and removal of wastes, we will be putting $600 towards our garden program.

As Teachers, our 1st marking period grades were due into the computer by this week.  The grading system that we use in physical education is consistent with the classroom teachers and that is; E, G, S, N and U! Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Needs Improvement and Unsatisfactory.

In phys ed, your child's grade is broken down into 4 categories.  They are RESPONSIBILITY, PARTICIPATION, ASSESSMENTS and PRIDE.  Responsibility means that they remember to wear sneakers on days of physical education.  Participation means that when they come down to the gym they are always giving 100%.  Assessments are tests that are given throughout the marking period.  PRIDE is an acronym that stands for Patience, Respect, Integrity, Dignity and Empathy.  All of these qualities are explained to students during the school year and they are expected to display them through positive character while in class.

If you ever have any questions about your child's grade in physical education please feel free to stop by the office on Tuesdays during parent engagement time which is 230-330.  Thank you all as always for your continued support!
